What RaiaNews is
RaiaNews is a free, public-interest news research tool — a gift to humanity, starting with Kenya. It is built and operated by an independent developer, not a registered business. It matches the Kenyan conversation on X to verified headlines from Kenyan newsrooms, ranks the day's hot topics, and helps you research any story across multiple sources.
By using RaiaNews you agree to these terms. If you disagree with them, the door is always open — the public feed asks nothing of you.
Using the service
Reading the feed, trending topics, and story pages requires no account. Creating an account (via Google or X) is optional and exists only so you can save stories and write research notes. There is no fee, and there will never be one for the core service.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and the notes you write. Keep your provider credentials safe — RaiaNews never sees your Google or X password. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (see Acceptable use).
Content and sources
Headlines and articles belong to their publishers; every story page links back to the original sources. X posts belong to their authors. Summaries marked as AI-written are machine-generated from the linked sources and can be wrong — always verify at the source. RaiaNews is a research index, not a publisher: it aggregates, matches, and cites. It does not claim ownership of third-party content.
Acceptable use
- Don't attack, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Don't resell access to it — it is free for everyone; let it stay that way.
- Don't use it for anything unlawful, or to harass or defame anyone.
- Don't misrepresent RaiaNews or its output as your own product.
No warranty
RaiaNews is provided “as is”, a free gift, with no warranty of any kind — express or implied — including availability, accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. The feed refreshes when the operator runs the pipeline; it may be stale, and the service may be temporarily or permanently unavailable.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of RaiaNews is not liable for any damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including decisions you make based on its output. It is a research aid, not professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.
Changes and availability
The service is young and will evolve: features may change, and the service may be modified or discontinued at any time. These terms may change too — the date at the top will move when they do, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
Ending these terms
You may stop using RaiaNews at any time and may request account deletion by emailing raianews-support@khonsu.me. The operator may suspend access for abuse of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
